my experience is its much stronger than metformin. You cant take glipizide and not eat. Be careful as it can cause hypos. Make sure you take it with food if that is how you were instructed to take it. That happened to my husband (t2 diabetic diagnosed in 1995). Fortunately after he adopted my low carb diet he hasn't need glypizide.
